An experience

Last year, things weren't going too well for me. I didn't know what I wanted to do in the future, and my parents were pressing me a lot, which didn't help to decide. My mother wanted me to study chemistry, and my father wanted me to study computing. And I was all day in my room thinking what I should study in the University.

But everything changed to me when I met and old friend who made me realize that only I can make that decision, because only I will be woeking about that in the future.

If I had never met that old friend, I would have never thought about the future like a think that only me can choose. Nowadays, I still don't know, but I know that when I'll make the decision, it will be the correct one.

Write plans for a visit

Hi, Chris

I'm just writing to check if you like the visit plans.

I thijk you'll like Banyoles. On Saturday morning we're walking around the town to show you the city. And in the afternoon, we'll probably meet some of my friends, visit the museum or maybe go fishing. It's up to you. I expect we'll end up in a cafè near the lake.

On Sunday, we could get a bus to Girona or somewhere. There are some small villages around here, like Serinyà or Esponellà. There isn't much to do in them, but I think we'll have a great time. I'll get some photos and you can decide what to do.

We're going to meet you at the airport. Can you call us when you get off the plane?

Looking forward to seeing you.

Adrià

Writing: The History Of Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola was created in 1886 by John S. Pemberton in Atlanta. He was a druggist that one day, decided to search a cure for the addiction to morphine but, he found refreshing syrup. This syrup was been changing by Pemberton to get a better taste and finally, he discovered the actually most famous drink in world.

About the logo of Coca-Cola, a bookkepper from Atlanta who knew that the taste of the syrup was based in coca leaves and kola nuts, wrote the name for the product with a curious typography and gave it to Pemberton. The logo, the red color, the advertising and the rumors that it was a curative drink made Coca-Cola started to be bought by more and more people around Atlanta.

The first year John only sold 95l of Coca-Cola but the next year he sold about 3800. His Company decided to bottle the Coca-Cola in 1894 and two years later, it began to be bought in all USA. The first Coca-Cola bought in Spain, was around the twenties and became famous as fast as in the USA.

Classmates' Oral

Blanca & Miós
They talked about Starbucks and its history.
In my opinion, they pronuntation was really good but this oral wasn't interested me because the nearby Starbucks store is in Girona and I don't like much coffee.

Guillem
He talked about a world championship at Pont de Vaux and its history.
The races and these stuff aren't iteresting for me but I think that It was really full of content

Tània
She talked about the Mini and its history.
I liked the images of the new design of Mini and I quite like this car. Her oral was good but she said too many dates.

Eugeni
I wasn't at class the day wich he did the oral but I read in his blog that it was about McDonald's.
I think he must prepare it more because he was nervous but I really liked the commentary of the woman. I'm sure I will never enter in any of those restaurants.

Sílvia
She talked about Lacoste and obviously, about its history.
I wasn't interested because this brand is really expensive and the most things they've is simple. Maybe it's the quality of the clothes but I can assure you that a polo with a crocodile doesn't cost about $80.

Xuni

He talked about surf and its history.
Damn, I really like surf, when I was younger I went every summer to try to surf with my oncle. He was nervous, probably because he couldn't use his Power Point.

Pau
He talked about the mobile phones.
I like this theme, especially because the mobile phones are becoming the future laptops. I've got an Iphone and it can do a lot of things that with my laptop I can hardly do.

Sergi
He talked about Abercombie & Fitch.
More expensive brand clothes... He did quite well except the part when he said "the tail that people do for come." and his "Pff". Maybe he was nervous but it was funny.

Post 1: Sherlock Holmes

1. Match the presentations of the characters with the picture of each one.

-My name is Sherlock Holmes. I am a scientific detective I solve crimes by logical reasoning and with the help of scientific instruments like forceps and magnifying glasses. When I am at home I like to relax and be comfortable.
At home I often wear my purple dressing-gown and smoke a pipe.

-My name is Dr John Watson. I am a doctor My wife takes good care of me, and always brushes my hat. I am a good observer, but, as my friend Holmes says, I do not reason with what I see

-My name is Peterson. I am a commissionaire. For my job I wear a grand uniform that looks like a military uniform. I work at a hotel where I open the door for clients and tale messages. I found the hat and the goose, and took them to my friend Sherlock Holmes.

-My name is Henry Baker. This is not a good time for me. I often drink, and my wife doesn't love me anre. You can see this because my clothes are always dirty and my hat is never brushed. I have lost my hat and my Christmas goose.

2. Number the sentences i nthe right order and fill in the blanks.

I visited my friend Sherlock Holmes on the second morning of Christmas. When I arrived he was sitting in front of the fire, wearing his purple dressing-gown.

Next to the sofa was a wooden chair, and on the chair was a dirty old hat. A magnifying glass and a forceps were on the chair, so the hat was probably part of one of Holme's investigations.

'You are busy,' I said. 'Perhaps I inturrupt you.'
'Not at all,' he replied, and indicated the hat. 'The problem is very simple, but it is still interesting and maybe even instructive.'

I sat down in an armchair and warmed my hands in front of the fire because it was very cold outside.

'I imagine,' I said, 'that thishat is connected with a terrible crime.'

'No, no. No crime,' said SHerlock Holmes, laughing. 'It is only one of those strange things that happens when four million human beings live within the small area of a city. With so many people every imaginable combination of events is possible and sometimes you can find a problem that is striking and strange but not criminal. Do you know Peterson, the commissionaire?'

3. Match the pictures of the clues with the written description and Sherlock HOlmes' deductions.

C. There is dust on his hat, and it is the kind of dust you find in houses, not on the street.
D. He doens't go out very often.

C.There are some hairs sticking to the hat and there is the distinc odour of lime-cream.
D. He uses lime-cream.

C. There are at least five wax stains on his hat.
D. He does not have gas lighting in his house.

C. His hat is not brushed.
D. His wife has stopped loving him.

C. The hat is big.
D. He is intellectual.

C. He bought a hat-securer, but when it broke he did not replace it.
D. He had foresight, but he has less now.

C. There are pieces of cut hair stuck to the inside of the hat.
D. He has recently had his hair cut.

C. There was the label on the leg of the goose which says 'For Mrs Henry Baker' and there were the initials 'H.B.' written on the inside of the hat.
D. He is married.

C. His hair is greyish in colour.
D. He is middle-aged.

C. This hat came out three years ago, and it is quite worn.
D. He had enough money in the past, but doesn't now.

C. He has tried to cover up the stains with ink.
D. He has not completely lost his self-respect.

C. There are sweat stains on the hat.
D. He is not in the best of training.

OPINION.

The first episode of the Blue Carbuncle it's really interesting for me because it shows the brilliant reasoning of Sherlock Holmes. With only a hat, he can know a lot of characterist of a unknown person.
